Runes

Runes have been around in various forms for a very long time. Probably the best know are the Futhark runes which have been used since Viking times. Based on the Futhark rune-row (alphabet) they were used for divination and consulting the omens and gods to foretell the future. They are a popular choice for many of our visitors and are still used actively for divination today.

Perhaps less well known are the witch's runes which are pictorial in origin rather than based on an alphabetic script. These too are still very much in use by Wiccans and witches. We also have a Psychic Revelation original. A set of runes based on the Ogham staves.

All our runes are handcarved and handpainted by Talisman using natural polished river stones. Talisman spent two years living and working in Iceland, a Viking country, where he was taught to make and read Futhark runes by practiioners of the "old ways".

If you prefer to buy mass-produced "Made in China" runes then ours are not for you. However, if you want something that is uniquely individual and handcrafted right here in the USA then please look around. Every set of runes is unique. No two sets are alike.
